The New Gold Standard for Affordable Carbon Trail Bikes
This bike is insane for several reasons. The fact that you can get a carbon frame on a trail MTB for under $3k is crazy. The other reason is this sets the standard for how a true trail style mtb should feel. Fast, light, perfect amount of travel, and responsive. All that with a loaded set of components that blow away the other brands. This is also a great looking bike with a nice finish. Over all a solid bike and one that I feel I can recommend to experienced riders and beginners.
Trail Bike With Rocket Ship DNA!
The Superior XF 979 TR is a mind blowing bike. It weighs around 27-28 lbs which is unheard of for a bike with 140/130 travel. Combine that with the DT Swiss wheels and intelligent tire spec, this is one of the fastest trail bikes you'll ever hop aboard. Agile, precise, you name it...This bike is a trail weapon, and still has the brawn to handle some pretty gnarly trail features. All in all, 5 stars!
Superior XF 979 TR
Hey Ryan I wanted to thank you for finding the medium in the xf 979 tr for me. I have put about 50 miles on it and really like the bike. I am really impressed with how light it is and all the tools that come with it. This bike handles like a dream!! The suspension is plush and soaks up small and large hits. I can't recommend this bike enough.
Fantastic value
Bike arrived quickly, haven't yet put a lot of miles on it but I've heard zero creaks so far. The revelation RC fork is wonderful. Bike is dialed in literally out of the box. I'd give 4.5 stars if I could only because the monarch RT rear shock is clearly not on the same level as the rest of the components, but I get you have to save money somewhere to get down to this crazy price point.
