Polygon Kids Bikes Review – Results of our Test Rides
Although new to the US, Polygon Bikes have been around for over 30 years and are quite well known overseas. Based out of Indonesia, Polygon is one of the few manufacturers that own their own facilities. This factory-direct model allows them to offer high-quality bikes at a significantly lower price point.
What type of rider is the Polygon Premier best for?
As a well-rounded bike, the Polygon performs great as a neighborhood bike on paved surfaces, but also performs just as well for all-terrain riding. With a semi-upright position that allows kids to sit up for everyday rides or aggressively lean into jumps, the Premier is incredibly versatile.
Polygon Premier as a Neighborhood Bike
The tires are multi-use: they roll smoothly on paved surfaces while providing plenty of traction for dirt. Compared to competitors like the Priority Start or Guardian Ethos, the Polygon is often lighter and offers more gears for the price.
What size Polygon Kids Bike is best for my child?
Polygon Premier 20: Ideal for riders with at least a 19" inseam. Best fit for experienced riders aged 5-7.
Polygon Premier 24: Best fit for kids with at least a 23.5" inseam (Ages 7-11). Our 9-year-old tester felt right at home with room to grow.
Performance and Ride Quality
From shifting to braking, the Premier provided a top-notch performance. The 7-speed gears provide enough power for mild hills and pump tracks. The v-brakes provide massive stopping power with minimal effort.
