With a World Cup pedigree, the XF 979 was engineered to push the limits of what you thought possible. It features a high-modulus carbon frame with race-ready components like a a Shimano XT drivetrain, a DT Swiss 232 ONE fork/shock combo with a 3-way lockout remote, DT Swiss M 1900 SPLINE TLR wheels, and a dropper seat post all all weighing in at a svelt 11.4kg.

GO FAST GEOMETRY

Superior's XF Cross Country dualie series was designed with one goal: Go fast off-road! The large size features a fast 68° head tube angle, a confident 74.6° seat tube angle, 465mm reach (size large) for comfort, short 428mm chainstays for agile handling, and an 1169mm wheelbase for all-around racing and fire trail stability.

HIGH MODULUS CARBON

Coming in at 1717g, Superior’s lightweight, high-modulus carbon frame is one the lightest on the market. Built for maximum speed and stiffness and is just as at home on all-day rides as racing around your local XC trails. It also features internal cabling plus downtube and chainstay protectors.

DT SWISS F232 ONE FORK

The F232 ONE is engineered to meet the demands of intense modern-day XC courses. The fork features an XC-optimized linear spring, three-position damping with remote and weighs a paltry 1480g.

DT SWISS R 232 ONE SHOCK

The R232 ONE offers enough progression to float over rock gardens and take the A line at your local circuit. It also has a three-position adjustment remote lever with the perfect compression level for every situation.

DT SWISS M1900 WHEELS

DT Swiss has been making the highest-quality and most reliable wheels for every manufacturer since day one, and the eMTB-spec M1900 TLR wheelset with 370 hubs, Champion spokes, and alloy rims are no different.

SHIMANO XT 1X12 GROUPSET

The Shimano XT 12-Speed drivetrain has a 10-51T cassette and 36T chainring. It also features Shadow RD+ tech, an in-built clutch, and XT 2 Piston hydraulic disc brakes with Ice Tech and One Way Bleeding technologies.

As a guide, it'll take 10-40min depending on whether you're an experienced bike assembler or have little to no mechanical experience.

Side Note: Your cables will stretch during the initial bed-in period and must be adjusted by an experienced mechanic around 150km of riding.

Great Bike

Great bike for the price. This company is easy to work with as well. I am upgrading from a Rocky Mtn Element and have to say fit to finish this bike is impressive for the money. I wanted a supercaliber but couldnt justify the 15k supercaliber over this bike. This bike has better suspension and easier to service than a super. I bet If i pull the dropper off and put carbon rims on it will be in the 22lb range. Nice ride for the money!

Speedy lightweight race machine

Overall, I'm very happy with the value of this bike and bikes online does a great job with shipping and adding value with tools and support. I decided my trail bike, a 2020 Specialized Stumpjumper carbon weighing in at more than 30 pounds, wasn't what i needed in a bike. I valued being able to go longer distances and cover ground faster. Basically I wanted a bike to keep up with my high school NICA racer. I've had the bike for two months put around 20 rides and 500 miles in, including a 35 and 55 mile ride. I'm happy with how well this bike climbs and feel confident in how the dt-swiss suspension takes the downhill. Remote lockout feels almost like a necessity now. There is a less plush feel to the dt-swiss than the fox suspension and feels more responsive with smaller hits. There definitely more sound as the suspension works, as fluid and air move through the chambers. I don't mind but some might.

Nice and light.

This bike is light enough to easy taking it in and out of my home. Nice smooth shocks and drivetrain. Easy to put together with the simple instruction. Bike came oiled and ready for the road after putting the handle bar front tire and seat on. I am enjoying my new bike. One problem I have is the seat. After about two hours of riding my bottom was destroyed. I recommend a padded shorts or changing the seat out for something more comfortable if you plan on seating down while riding often.
